This song was written in the low light days in Alaska. That part of the world seems to magnify the size and the beauty of the moon. I don't know if it's closer to the earth or if the chilly ionized atmosphere creates that illusion but there is definitely something magical about it. It creates the backdrop for a sensual rendezvous of two souls destined to escape and surrender to the enchantment of that part of the world.
Under The Silent Moon
Palm against palm, fingers woven
I take in a breath as my heart skips a beat
I can feel your body next to mine
As our thoughts become intertwined
Without a spoken word,
we say the things that we want to say
We have no need for verse,
only unknown actors’ parts to portray
One by one, inhibitions dropping
In a pool of fancy to cushion the fall
The allure of escape is near
As the feelings we share are sincere
Under the silent moon, loft the darkest night
Under the silent moon, we held each other
Step by step, a rhythmic beating
A gesture to kiss, two hearts swing without time
I can feel your pulse against mine
Just as fate begins to unwind
And thru this trance we're in,
all outside notions drift off in the wind
Eloquence, we meet, dreaming on........
past the darkness of sin
To and fro, a dancing motion
No mistaking the passion of two in captive
Surrendering all that we can
In liaison, our eyes understand
Under the silent moon, loft the darkest night
Under the silent moon, we held each other
Face to face, a photographic moment
An etching, a still, the starry night as the scene
In this image we'll always find
Two figures cast in pantomime
Under the silent moon, loft the darkest night
Under the silent moon, we held each other
