If you are ever in Japan, you must ride the Shinkansen across the country. It's the coolest experience. The train is very fast at times but it seems you are hardly moving because it seems so smooth. You glide through the countryside. I was lucky enough to get to go into the engineer's compartment. For some reason the engineers onboard decided to invite us in for a sec when they saw my sister and I looking in through a little window. So there we were in the front of the Shinkansen when another train approached us from the other direction going probably 100 mph. It seems like there are only inches between the metal beasts as they pass each other. Really cool. The only thing that isn't Zen like when riding the Shinkansen is when they pass each other. The windows rattle and shake. We thanked the engineers for our experience and enjoyed the rest of the ride.

This song was originally done with Axis/Parallax. Our band's drummer at the time was Mike Carrol. He played some really nice things on it that I incorporated into the song. His passing in 2015 saddened all of us deeply. Rest In Peace, Mike.
