There used to be a row of Eucalytus trees next to my house. I was single back then and by myself. Sometimes in the Fall after coming home from the bar gigs on those starry nights, the wind would be rushing through those trees and I would stand out there for a bit and just listen to those leaves rustling. I was a bit lonely at that time but standing there in solitude, listening to that symphony of wind and leaves was conforting. I knew someday the right person would come along. I have to say I got lucky.
I Don't Know Where Love Is
There's a feelin' in the autumn wind and it's gotten
all my senses tumblin'
My face to fate on this starry night but somehow
I've got to keep tryin'
Oh, you know, I'm a loner with this passion in my eye
But there's a feelin' in the autumn wind
And it's changin' all I ever wanted
I don't know where love is
But I gotta keep lookin'
It could be just around the corner
Oh, the colour of the night and the wait of the air
has bound me to my senses
A changin' tide to loose end minds,
how I keep fallin' off pretenses
I reach up and I pull myself above the ragged edge
Oh, the colour of the night and the wait of the air
has held me by its strongest trance
I don't know where love is
But I gotta keep lookin'
It could be just around the corner
Well, I've got to hold on
Throw my head back, my face to the wind
'Cause it's this I know
I've got to keep movin' on
I can't deny all the things I've tried
as I mumble them under my breath
I can't go and hide from my foolish pride
Tell me, why is that the way it is?
So I stand, with my feet on the ground,
reachin' for the best I can get
Till that feelin' in the autumn wind starts blowin' away
each and every empty kiss
I don't know where love is
But I gotta keep lookin'
It could be just around the corner
